Have a Vegas Themed Wedding in Your Hometown

If you just can't get to Las Vegas for your actual wedding,
why not create a themed wedding extravaganza? With a little
shopping and a lot of imagination, you're sure to create a
fun evening for all that come.
Start off with the invitation
For your Vegas themed wedding you can start off with the
invitation itself. You can announce your intentions for a
Vegas theme by making your invitation in the shape of a
betting ticket or add a few playing cards with the
invitation details. If you like, you could create an
invitation that looks like a hotel or casino brochure.
The Vegas chapel
If you're looking to create a Vegas theme during the actual
ceremony, you might be able to achieve this by decorating
like a Vegas chapel. You might be able to go online to see
if you can copy some of the chapels there, or you can just
incorporate bright colors and flashing lights for a Vegas
taste.
Try using the red and black of playing cards as the main
colors of the ceremony. It's classy and not overdone. You
can be more flashy at the reception.
The reception
At the reception you can let your imagination fly and be as
flashy as you like. You can display the Vegas theme to the
fullest extent. With casino flavored decorations such as
poker chips and cards spread on the tables, and the tables
made on different hotel or casino names, you can create the
ambience of Vegas. Don't forget to make the place cards in
the style of playing cards with the guests name in the
center.
You can give playing cards or chocolate poker chips as
favors for your guests. Some couples like to give music
compilations of Vegas related music with the date and
couple's name on the front.
The cake
A Vegas style cake is the best addition to the themed
wedding. You might want to create a cake that is shaped
like a slot machine or a casino blackjack table. The ideas
are endless. Get a few pictures of casinos and look for
shapes that can work for a unique and great looking cake.
Theme music
Vegas music that is loud and boisterous will provide the
exact effect of a Vegas wedding. After all, you are
transporting the atmosphere of the city to your home, which
is best done with its characteristic music. If you don't
like all the noise, you can have a lounge singer for the
real Vegas feel.
You might want to arrange a karaoke contest and get everyone
to be a lounge singer for a while.
Last, but not the least, go to Las Vegas for your honeymoon
after a grand Vegas wedding, and enjoy the city without
having to bring everyone with you!
